Modifications do not permanently change the output style; they only apply to the specific paper you have formatted. For styles that use alphabetical or other sorting, click the Override Default Ordering check box. However, you can always add a new in-text citation.
Add more references to the citation using the plus icon, remove them by using the minus icon, or reorder the references with the up and down arrows in the Compose Citation area. For styles that accept either notes or in-text citations, Write-N-Cite will keep track of the original location of a citation and return it to the appropriate place as your Output Style changes.
Once you make a footnote and finish editing the citation, you will not be able to undo this action. Should you add data to your RefWorks account while you are working on a paper, your changes will become available as you work.
Any time you make changes to your RefWorks items you can click Sync my Database your new and edited items will be added to Write-N-Cite. Click Bibliography Options, Insert Bibliography.
Switching between Notes and In-Text styles Write-N-Cite keeps track of your notes and in-text citations when changing styles. The Search box will search every field.
Click Sync My Database. You can select citations displayed from this list or access all your references from the Insert New option. To insert a footnote instead of an in-text citation, click the Make Footnote checkbox in the Edit References area. You can insert your bibliography anywhere in your paper while you are writing. Click the Sync my database icon to download new or updated items.
Selecting Your Output Style The first thing you will want to do is select an output style for your document. To change the ordering of the references in a citation, use the up or down arrow buttons.

Sep 12, Open your document and click on the RefWorks tab in the Word ribbon. Make any changes to the sort, ordering, margins and spacing. You can disable the folder auto-sync from Preferences or directly from the Settings area.
Click on the item you wish to insert into your paper. Click OK when finished. Click the Style drop down.
This may take a few seconds. Reapply Output Style — re-runs formatting for citations, notes and bibliographies as defined by the Output Style and any customizations you have made.
If you leave the Format Bibliography window with the lock icon unlocked, your customizations will change when you change Output Styles. You can always change the style later if you need to. Access to other Styles can be gained by using Select Other Style at the bottom of the list.
